As a parent, guardian, or adult member associated with Carl Betty Martial Arts, we are committed to promoting a positive and respectful environment for all. By abiding by this Code of Conduct, we collectively contribute to the well-being and growth of our martial arts community.

  • Encourage Understanding and Adherence to Club Rules:
  • Encourage your child to learn and respect the club's rules and guidelines and participate in club activities within these parameters.
  • Respect for Officials:
  • Discourage challenging or arguing with officials during competitions and respect their judgments and decisions.
  • Gymnasium Etiquette:
  • Understand that parents remaining in the gymnasium during children’s training can be distracting and may pose a child protection issue. Follow the club's guidelines regarding parental presence during training.
  • Promote Good Sportsmanship:
  • Encourage recognizing good performance, demonstrating good sportsmanship, and applauding the efforts of all participants.
  • Familiarity with Competition Protocol:
  • Familiarize yourself with the expected protocols when attending competitions and abide by them.
  • Respect Your Child's Choice:
  • Never force your child to participate in martial arts. Support their passion and interests.
  • Appropriate Dress and Hydration:
  • Ensure that you and your child are dressed appropriately for activities and have ample hydration.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Keep the club informed of any illness or absence from sessions and maintain open communication with the club for the benefit of all.
  • Address Concerns Through Approved Channels:
  • Share any concerns or complaints about any aspect of the club through the designated and approved communication channels.
  • Positive Language and Behavior:
  • Use correct and proper language at all times and avoid punishment or belittlement of a child for poor performance or mistakes.
  • Prompt Collection and Support:
  • Always collect your child promptly at the end of a session, and support your child’s involvement and enjoyment of the sport.
  • Appropriate Use of Social Media:
  • Do not engage in negative conversations or speak poorly about other club members, their families, instructors, or other TAGB Clubs and instructors on social media. Any concerns should be brought up through the appropriate channels within the club.
  • Compliance with Disciplinary Action:
  • Understand that disciplinary action may be considered by the if the Code of Conduct is systematically breached.


Code of Conduct for Participants Aged 18 and Under

As a member of Carl Betty Martial Arts, it is essential to uphold the values of respect, sportsmanship, and responsibility. Abide by the following rules and guidelines to maintain a positive and safe martial arts environment:

  • Adherence to Rules:
  • Participate within the rules, respect coaches, judges, and their decisions during training and competitions.
  • Respect for Peers:
  • Respect opponents and fellow club members, promoting a bullying-free environment.
  • Punctuality and Communication:
  • Adhere to agreed timings for training and competitions and inform their coach if they are going to be late.
  • Appropriate Attire and Safety:
  • Wear suitable attire and secure long hair. Remove body jewelry and prioritize safety during training and events.

  • Health and Well-being:
  • Avoid smoking, consuming alcohol, or using drugs of any kind while representing the club at competitions or other events.
  • Equipment Respect:
  • Treat all equipment with respect and care during training and competitions.
  • Injury and Illness Reporting:
  • Notify the head coach of any injuries or illness they may have before the warm-up begins.
  • Regular Attendance:
  • Attend sessions regularly and inform the club if a session will be missed.
  • Conduct and Behavior:
  • Maintain appropriate language and behavior during training sessions and events.
  • Safety After Session:
  • Remain with coaches at the end of a session until collected by their parent or guardian.
  • Appropriate Use of Social Media:
  • Do not engage in negative conversations or speak poorly about other club members, their families, instructors, or other TAGB Clubs and instructors on social media. Any concerns should be brought up through the appropriate channels within the club.
  • Consequences for Violations:
  • Understand that breaches of this Code will result in consequences based on the nature of the violation. This could include expulsion from the club

At Carl Betty Martial Arts, fostering respectful interaction among members and between parents is fundamental to maintaining a positive and harmonious martial arts community. Our commitment to creating an environment of respect and understanding is reflected in the following guidelines:

  • Respectful Behavior:
  • Treat fellow members and their families with respect, understanding, and courtesy, both inside and outside of the martial arts training environment.
  • Communication and Empathy:
  • Engage in open and empathetic communication with fellow members and their parents. Listen attentively and seek to understand their perspectives and concerns.
  • Conflict Resolution:
  • Address conflicts or disagreements with fellow members or parents calmly and constructively. Endeavor to find common ground and solutions that are fair and agreeable to all parties involved.
  • Positive Feedback and Encouragement:
  • Acknowledge and celebrate the achievements and efforts of fellow members and their children. Offer words of encouragement and support to motivate and uplift one another.
  • Appropriate Social Media Conduct:
  • Refrain from engaging in negative conversations or derogatory remarks about fellow members, parents, or the martial arts community on social media. Handle concerns and disagreements through private conversations or appropriate channels within the club.

Competition Protocol for Carl Betty Martial Arts

Competitions are an essential part of martial arts training, providing an opportunity for our students to showcase their skills, learn from the experience, and promote camaraderie within the martial arts community. To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of competitions, we have established the following Competition Protocol:

  • Pre-Competition Preparation:
    a. Training and Conditioning:
  • Participate in regular training sessions to prepare and improve skills, strength, and conditioning leading up to the competition.
  • b. Mental Preparation:
  • Develop mental resilience, focus, and positive mindset through visualization, relaxation techniques, and mental rehearsals.
  • c. Familiarize with Rules and Regulations:
  • Thoroughly understand the competition rules, scoring systems, and specific requirements for the event.
  • d. Proper Attire:
  • Wear the appropriate competition uniform and gear as specified for the event. Ensure uniforms and equipment are clean, in good condition, and compliant with competition standards.

  • Arrival at the Competition Venue:
    a. Punctuality:
  • Arrive at the competition venue well before the designated start time to allow for registration, warm-up, and orientation.
  • b. Registration and Check-in:
  • Follow the registration process, provide required documentation, and check in with the team representative or coach.
  • c. Warm-Up:
  • Engage in a thorough warm-up routine to prepare the body and mind for the competition.
  • Competition Behavior:
    a. Respect and Sportsmanship:
  • Display respect and sportsmanship towards fellow competitors, coaches, officials, and event staff at all times.
  • b. Focus and Concentration:
  • Maintain focus and concentration during the competition, adhering to the instructions of officials and coaches.
  • c. Fair Play:
  • Compete with fairness and integrity, adhering to the rules and guidelines set for the event.

    a. Listening to Officials:
  • Listen carefully to instructions from officials and follow their directions during matches.
  • b. Adhering to Rules:
  • Compete within the rules and regulations of the event, demonstrating appropriate techniques and strategies.

  • Show respect and courtesy towards opponents, both before and after matches.

    a. Thanking Officials and Organizers:
  • Express gratitude to the officials, organizers, and volunteers who made the event possible.

  • Reflect on the performance, identify areas for improvement, and discuss the experience with coaches for constructive feedback.
  • c. Acknowledging Teammates:
  • Celebrate the achievements of teammates, offering support and encouragement for future competitions.
  • Social Media Etiquette:

  • Share positive experiences and achievements from the competition on social media, promoting sportsmanship and unity.
  • b. Avoiding Negative Comments:
  • Refrain from making negative comments about competitors, coaches, officials, or the event on social media. Address concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Feedback and Suggestions:
    a. Providing Constructive Feedback:
  • Share feedback and suggestions regarding the competition organization, rules, and overall experience with the club management, ensuring continual improvement.
